Where’s the heart of Malaysian Airlines?

Oh dear.

The news reports that Malaysian airlines sent a TEXT out to the families of the lost passengers of the ill fated plane MH370 to tell them that “Malaysia Airlines deeply regrets that we have to assume beyond any reasonable doubt that MH370 has been lost and that none of those on board survived.”

Whilst the rest of us feel very deeply for the sad loss these relatives have endured, SURELY Malaysian Airlines could have organised for their staff to call the poor relatives to tell them personally?  How about offering bereavement counselling?  Or support, or just something that shows a heart?

Just because they’re a big company doesn’t mean to say that they can’t care.

We’re all humans: big business, small business, doesn’t matter.  We all have a responsibility to show respect for, and have a heart for, all other humans on this planet.

And from a marketing and PR point of view, in one simple text, Malaysian Airlines have just undone all the good work that their previous years of expensive marketing and PR campaigns will have created for them.

Please people – whatever the size of your business – show the world that your business has a heart!!
